Colchicine for Peyronie’s Disease

Colchicine has been used for treatment of Peyronie’s disease based on theoretical grounds. However with medical progress being done for treatment of Peyronie’s disease, the benefits are uncertain. The only randomized controlled study showed no significant benefit. Given significant response to placebo and frequent resolution of pain without treatment, the true benefit of colchicine is uncertain.

the most scientific study today of colchicine for Peyronie’s DD disease demonstrated no benefit from colchicine compared to placebo. ┬áThe evidence of benefit is tenuous and given availability of other treatment options with greater evidence of benefit we do not currently recommended colchicine as a primary treatment option for men with Peyronie’s disease.
